Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships 2024: (Deadline 13 March 2024)

The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) program provides financial aid to exceptional foreign students who want to pursue master’s or doctoral studies in Ireland. Managed by the Higher Education Authority, the program is funded by the Irish government in collaboration with Irish universities. 60 scholarships for a year of full-time master’s or doctoral study are given out annually as part of this initiative. Students in any field are eligible to apply to the program.

Benefits:

• The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship entitles recipients to a stipend of €10,000 for a full year of master’s or doctoral study.
• The host higher education institutions of the awardees must waive all of their fees for the year of the scholarship.
• It will be anticipated that successful scholars will begin their studies in September or October of 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates for a Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship must be citizens of a country other than the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the European Union, or the European Economic Area.
• In accordance with the admissions policies of the relevant higher education institution, candidates must submit an application for admission to a master’s or doctoral program.
• A copy of the conditional or final offer of admission to the higher education institution must be submitted by the applicant at the time of application.
• The offer letter must attest to the fact that the student, an international fee-paying student, has been extended an offer of enrollment in a full-time program.

Selection Criteria:

The following are expected of applicants:

• A track record of exceptional academic achievement;
• Strong communication skills;
• Proof of involvement in extracurricular activities, such as politics, the arts, sports, or humanitarian work; and
• A compelling justification for studying in Ireland that explains how a Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship would support their long-term objectives.

Documents Requirement:

Applicants must uploud the following materials:

• Application Form.
• Academic credentials, accomplishments, and professional background (40 marks).
• In their personal statement (see the Candidate profile), applicants must provide evidence of:
  • The advantages of being a GOI-IES scholar include benefits to the applicant (both personally and professionally), the HEI, Ireland (both socially and economically), and their home country (15 marks).
  • how, in order to maximize their academic and cultural exchange experience and to spread awareness of the GOI-IES program in Ireland and beyond, they will go above and beyond their project/studies to become actively involved in Irish society (15 marks).
  • The degree of their long-term interest in Ireland and the ways in which they plan to strengthen ties with the country while studying and working there (15 marks).
• Using the online application portal, two references were uploaded. It is important to note that references submitted through the online application portal (15 marks) will not be accepted by the HEA.
