The Helmut Veith Scholarship is awarded annually to exceptional female students pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology, Austria). It honors the memory of Prof. Helmut Veith (1971–2016), a distinguished researcher in computer science, especially in the areas of logic, verification, software engineering, and security.

The scholarship supports talented women in computer science fields where they are underrepresented, promoting diversity and excellence in STEM.

• €7,000 per year financial support
• Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of the Master’s programme
• Funding is granted for up to two years (the standard duration of a Master’s program), subject to satisfactory academic progress

Eligibility Criteria of the Helmut Veith Scholarship in Austria

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be female students
• Hold or be completing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent
• Apply for or be admitted to one of the English-taught Master’s programmes in Computer Science at TU Wien
• Show strong academic performance and interest in at least one of these areas:
  • Logic in Computer Science
  • Formal Methods & Verification

  • Algorithms & Complexity
  • Artificial Intelligence (foundations)
  • Databases & Knowledge Representation
  • Software Engineering
• Have good English proficiency
