The HIV Vaccine Science Academy awards fellowships to early- to mid-career HIV vaccine researchers in sub-Saharan Africa to take part in workshops on vaccine research. The academy supports change makers in establishing themselves as independent researchers and team leaders in their institutions. It also contributes to the development of a sustainable international network of African researchers.
