Immuno-Hematology Senior Officer (RCBT/Karongi) Under Statute at RWANDA BIO MEDICAL CENTER(RBC): (Deadline 17 November 2023)
Job description
1. Organize and supervise Immunohematology laboratory activities,
2. Validate routine Immuno-hematology tests on blood transfusion units
3. Ensure Immuno-hematology internal and external quality control tests are performed
4. Ensure the proper functioning of cold chain system for blood storage
5. Ensure the safety in the Immuno-hematology Laboratory
6. Ensure the inventory management of blood and blood components.
7. Ensure Immuno-hematology technicians are trained on applicable procedures
8. Ensure the implementation of quality system in the service
9. Ensure preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment is performed as scheduled
10. Ensure all critical supplies are inspected for appropriateness before use
11. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisors
12. Report to the Director of unit
In collaboration with Platelet production and serology Specialists:
– Ensures proper storage of Blood and Blood products.
– Ensures that all non-conforming Blood products are quarantined.
– Ensures that all validated Blood units are labeled prior to distribution.
In collaboration with Blood donor mobilization team and Laboratory Operations Specialist:
– Shares inventory status for Blood products.
– Shares information and investigates non-conformances related to Blood donation.
– Shares abnormal findings in Immuno-hematology results.
In Collaboration with QA/Accreditation Specialist:
– Elaborate documents needed to ensure quality system properly functions
– Report on quality indicators regularly
– Ensures inspection of incoming supplies
In collaboration with Director of unit:
– Ensures that transfusion reactions are investigated properly
In collaboration with Laboratory Operations Specialist:
– Ensures Inspection and constant availability of critical supplies
– Shares inventory status for Blood components.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology
0 Year of relevant experience
