Applications are open for the Indiana University Global Philanthropy Fellowship 2025. This fellowship, with financial support from the Giving USA Foundation, supports one researcher in residence to work alongside the Global Philanthropy Indices and Giving USA research teams.
The fellowship offers a unique platform for scholars to engage with the school’s research teams and conduct comparative and cross-national research on philanthropy and civil society. The fellow will contribute to building the global field of philanthropy research, provide added value to ongoing school research products, and enhance the impact of their research within their home communities and worldwide. They will benefit from access to world-class resources, including faculty mentorship and Indiana University’s extensive library systems. The fellow will be invited to present at the November Giving Institute meeting and at the Giving Institute Summer Symposium.
Benefits
- The Fellowship provides a $50,000 stipend to help cover travel costs to and from Indianapolis, cost of living expenses, and the required health insurance through Indiana University. At least four months of residency on campus in Indianapolis is required, with full residency from August to May preferred.
Eligibility
- Philanthropy researchers affiliated with academic institutions, universities, think tanks, non-profits, or even those currently unaffiliated are welcome to apply for the Global Philanthropy Fellowship.
- Eligible candidates should hold at least a master’s degree, but doctoral or post-doc candidates are also welcome.
Application
The Global Philanthropy Fellowship Selection Committee will review all applications and will set up virtual interviews for those on the short list of final candidates. A final decision on the Fellow for the 2025/2026 academic year is expected by May 30.
