Role Summary
The International Feminist Journal of Politics (IFJP) is seeking a Managing Editor to join its editorial team. This role is essential to the effective administration and timely production of the journal’s five issues annually. Working closely with the editorial team, the Managing Editor will coordinate production timelines, liaise with publishers, and oversee the workflow from submission to publication.
This is a remote and flexible position, requiring 20–25 hours of work per week, with a structured schedule tied to the journal’s publication cycle. The successful candidate will be an independent worker with strong organizational, communication, and editorial skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the editorial production schedule across all five annual issues
- Provide administrative and editorial support to the editorial team
- Coordinate communication with authors, reviewers, and publishers
- Copyedit and proofread accepted manuscripts in line with IFJP’s standards
- Ensure timely delivery of content to the publisher
- Maintain organizational systems, submission records, and workflow tracking
Required Qualifications
- Experience working independently in project or publication management
- Demonstrated academic administrative support skills
- Strong copyediting and proofreading abilities
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Comfortable with remote work, digital tools, and deadline-driven environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in academic publishing
- Familiarity with feminist academic discourse and journal standards
Compensation
Details will be discussed during the hiring process. The position includes a paid transition period during November and December 2025 to ensure a smooth handover from the outgoing Managing Editor.
