Are you a passionate storyteller eager to contribute to global development goals? The International Labour Organization (ILO) is offering an exciting Internship on Communications opportunity at its Dhaka Country Office.
This six-month position provides a unique chance for aspiring communicators to gain valuable experience in an international environment.
About the Internship
The internship is part of the ILO’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and is hosted by the Labour Administration and Working Conditions (LAWC) cluster. It focuses on enhancing the visibility of ILO projects, strengthening public outreach, and improving information sharing across various media channels.
Interns will support day-to-day communication activities, contribute to social media and website content, and assist in preparing communication materials that promote decent work and sustainable labour practices in Bangladesh. This opportunity is ideal for young professionals eager to build skills in media, design, and strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities
During the internship, you will:
- Develop engaging digital content, including articles, videos, and infographics.
- Assist in event planning, logistics, and promotion for public and media engagements.
- Design and update brochures, banners, and newsletters.
- Conduct media monitoring and prepare social media reports.
- Support knowledge management by maintaining an organized repository of communication assets.
Interns may also contribute ideas for communication campaigns and participate in brainstorming sessions to enhance project visibility.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, candidates must:

- Be enrolled in their final year of a graduate degree or have completed it within the past year in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Be familiar with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Have knowledge of social media management and content creation.
- Possess good organizational and teamwork abilities.
- Be proficient in written and spoken English and Bangla.
Applicants should not have previously undertaken an internship with the ILO, and close relatives of current staff are ineligible.
Additional Information
The internship lasts for six months, with a monthly stipend determined according to local cost of living. Interns must have personal medical and accident insurance coverage for the duration of the assignment.
