Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for the Japan Study Support Scholarship Program 2025, you must fulfill these eligibility criteria:
- Applicant has been verified to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Japanese university beginning in the spring (April/May) or fall (September-November) of 2024. (Students enrolled in short-term and Japanese language programs are not eligible.)
- Applicants possess a registered MY PAGE with JAPAN STUDY SUPPORT, an informational website for overseas students that is jointly operated by Benesse Corporation and the Asian Students Cultural Association.
- Applicants have been notified by the aforementioned university using the “JPSS Scout function” before being accepted.
- Applicants are capable of conducting interviews in both English and Japanese.
- Applicants must not possess a bank account in Japan (in the applicant’s name) where scholarship funds can be deposited. We won’t accept online banking.
- An applicant must not be a citizen of Japan to be eligible.
