Scholarship Overview

The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association (JTEA) is offering the 2026 Japan Scholarship (Domestic Recruitment) to encourage academic excellence and strengthen cultural ties between Japan and Taiwan.

Degree Level

Eligible Degree Levels:

 

• Undergraduate (final-year students preparing to enter graduate school)
• Master’s Programs
• Doctoral Programs
• Professional Degrees

 

This flexibility allows students in STEM, Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts, Medicine, Business, Engineering, and other fields to apply.

Available Subjects

Benefits

The monthly stipend provided is as follows:

• Master’s Program / Professional Degree: ¥144,000 (approximate)

• Doctoral Program: ¥145,000 (approximate)

Other tuition and academic expenses may be supported within the budget. The scholarship duration typically covers the standard program length.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a Taiwanese student currently enrolled in a Japanese university or graduate school (including final-year undergraduates).

• As of April 1, 2026, be enrolled in a regular program at a Japanese university.

• Be under 35 years old as of April 1, 2026.

Application Procedure

1. Download the official forms from the JTEA website

2. Prepare the required documents:

   • Application form

   • Supervisor’s recommendation letter

   • Health certificate

   • Pledge form

   • Checklist (to be sent via email to the JTEA Scholarship Department)

3. Print in A4 size and mail the completed application to the JTEA office.
