Job Title: Ticketing & Reservations Officer
Location: Kigali
Department: Ticketing & reservations
Reports to: General Manager
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the General Manager, you will manage travel requirements made for business or holiday and you will provide tourism related services and package tours on behalf of our clients. This role will provide full service-oriented professional reservations and ticketing service to all customers and travel businesses either virtually or in-person, in order to achieve optimal customer satisfaction and achieve budget revenue targets. The goal is to keep our clients satisfied and loyal to future services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cooperate with clients to determine their needs and advise them appropriately on the destination, modes of transportations, travel dates, costs, and accommodations
Provide relevant information about destinations to travelers
Make flight reservation, issue a ticket, attend to ticket reissue plus after sales ticket related enquiries and provide correct solutions
Book transportation, make hotel reservations for clients
Advise and sell travel insurance to clients
Notify clients on promotional sales of any itinerary or tour packages
Manage client complaints and process refunds where applicable
Create and manage frequent flyer accounts for clients
Attend travel seminars to remain updated with tourism trends
Enter data into our software and maintain client files
Liaise with partnering airlines and tour operators to ensure clients itineraries are up to date
Maintain statistical and financial records
Meet profit and sales targets
Advise clients on travel arrangements and documents (visas & passports)
Send out tickets, travel insurance, and hotel reservation codes to clients
Keep clients up to date with any changes to their travel itinerary
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES
Minimum of 4years proven work experience as a travel agent
Must not be above 35years old
Must be able to issue e-tickets on Amadeus and other GDS
Must be able to reissue tickets, issue MCO, EMD, and Refunds on Amadeus and other GDS
Must be able to book hotel reservations on GDS
Must be willing to learn as the industry evolves
Fluency in English, Kinyarwanda, and French. Swahili is a plus
Strong sales skills and commercial awareness
Ability to interact, communicate and negotiate effectively
Sound knowledge of domestic and international travel trends
Degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or relevant field
The personal travel experience will be considered an advantage
Must be able to multitask
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
