•Administer, investigate and enforce environmental and public health amenity and safety standards (ie water quality, food safety, noise, dust, mosquitoes, odours and other nuisance provisions);
•Perform inspections and where necessary action matters related to food premises, aquatic facilities, lodging houses, hairdressers and beauty premises, public buildings and events, camping grounds and other licensed or permitted activities under State legislation and local laws;
•Assist in the preparation, review and maintenance of local laws, policies, plans and procedures for the Environmental Health Service;
•Provide written reports, verbal advice and operational support as and when required;
•Conduct projects including but not limited to, mosquito management, noise, wastewater and other matters relevant to Environmental Health;
•Assist with Health Promotional activities as requested;
•Provide excellent customer service and deal effectively with members of the public, representatives of registered premises, Council officers and other internal and external stakeholders;
•Liaise with state government, local government agencies and indigenous organizations on the enforcement of public health and environmental protection legislation and requirements;
•Assist other Environmental Health Officers with performance of core duties within the National Rehabilitation Service.
A0/ A1 in Environmental Health Sciences, Public Health, Community Health, Clinical Psychology, Hygiene and Sanitation.
