We deliver quality farm supplies on credit, deep in rural areas, and trainings to improve farmers’ harvests. We currently serve 600,000 clients in six countries across Eastern and Southern Africa, and we aim to reach 1 million farm families by 2020.

 

Job Description

 

We are seeking an exceptional professional to administer the financial compliance processes for our global finance operations, based in Kigali, Rwanda. The Tax and Regulatory Compliance Officer will work closely with the wider finance team and country program teams to ensure compliance with tax and financial reporting laws and regulations across jurisdictions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Ensure that compliance processes are executed in a timely manner and appropriate tax accounting records are maintained
Prepare tax registration, statutory filing, reporting and tax compliance documentation for submission to the relevant authorities
Maintain a tax, compliance and statutory returns calendar
Prepare and submit tax returns and related payments in line with requirements, in liaison with outsourced service providers where applicable
Ensure that all tax records and correspondence are appropriately maintained and filed
Respond to related tax correspondence to resolve any queries or issues arising
Provide support for tax and other audits as necessary, ensuring that required information is provided to auditors in a timely manner in collaboration with country financial reporting and operational teams
Track outcomes of tax audits and liaise with process owners across the business to ensure communication and resolution of audit findings within prescribed timelines.
Carry out any other duties or special assignments as assigned.

Qualifications

 

We are seeking an exceptional professional with 3 years of work experience and a passion for our mission. Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:

A university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
Minimum of three years’ work experience in a Tax, Compliance or Finance role.
Part or full qualification in accounting such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent would be an added advantage
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience working with an ERP System (SAP experience preferable) would be an advantage
Demonstrated integrity and a good work ethic
Language: English with strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
Demonstrated leadership experience at work, or outside of work, enthusiasm for learning, and openness to feedback.
