Job Description

 

.1.Development of National Standards

– Carry out standards needs assessment in the field of Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Prepare Preliminary Drafts documents in Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Conduct Technical committee/ Subcommittee /Working Group/Consultative meetings to discuss the draft standards in Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Prepare the Draft Rwanda Standards under Mechanical engineering and metallurgy for Public Review

– Organize Public Review of Draft Rwanda Standards under Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Prepare the Final Draft Rwanda Standards under Mechanical engineering and metallurgy for Board Approval

2. Participate in regional/ international standardization activities

– Identify the new work items to be harmonized at regional level in the field of Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Identify the new work items to be standardized at international level in the field of Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Propose and provide working drafts documents for regional harmonization under Mechanical engineering and metallurgy area

– Propose and provide working drafts documents for standardization at international level in the area of Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Consider the proposals from Member States as new work items in the area of Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Conduct National Consultative meetings to discuss and comment on the new work items as well as draft documents for standardization in the field of Mechanical engineering and Metallurgy



– Attend regional or international physical meetings/seminars and workshop on standardization in Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Represent RSB in regional and International Technical Committee meetings on Standardization in Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Act as Secretary of the regional/international technical committee meetings in Mechanical engineering and metallurgy where Rwanda holds the secretariat
3. Standards awareness to stakeholders

– Prepare training materials for training stakeholders on standards requirements in the field of Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Conduct training and awareness workshop on standards requirements in the field Mechanical engineering and metallurgy

– Make report for the training conducted
