Merry Industry Ltd is a large maize products producer in Rwanda. Committed to playing a core role as buyer and processing of maize from Rwandan farmers, cooperatives, and traders, and as a provider of healthy nutritional cereal products to the population and institutions.
Job Summary
We are looking to hire a junior accountant with an analytical mind and fantastic organizational skills. The junior accountant is expected to be detail-oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of account and financial reporting principles and practices, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.
Job duties and responsibilities
- Analyze financial information and prepare balance sheets.
- Manage all account transactions
- Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures
- Resolve accounts payable and receivable issues or queries.
- Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check, and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.
- Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation.
- Prepare income tax returns on time and provide advice on taxation issues.
- Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Issue and prepare invoices
- Able to prepare and manage staff payroll
- Update financial data in a timely manner
- Complete end-of-month close procedures.
- Any other duties assigned.
