Aim and Benefits of Monash University PhD Scholarship
The MKS provides:
- A living allowance (stipend); $50,291.
- A research allowance; $1,500.
- A relocation allowance, if eligible $2000.
Requirements for Monash University PhD Scholarship Qualification
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
- An International student
You must meet the following criteria:
- Have submitted a scholarship application in the current year;
- Meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements; and
- Meet Monash English language proficiency requirements.
This scholarship is also available to students undertaking Joint Research Awards when Monash University is the home institution.

Monash scholarships are very competitive and are awarded based on your academic record, any research outputs and prior research experience.
If successful in receiving a MKS, please note that the standard terms and conditions as outlined in the RTP Scholarship Procedures apply, with the exceptions outlined in the eligibility criteria above.

- Official academic transcripts, degree certificate or testamur from awarding institution (including an explanation of the grading schema).

- Proof of meeting the English language proficiency requirements.

Interested and qualified? Go to Monash University on www.monash.edu to applyApplication for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled. A single application is used for both admission and scholarship. You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying as you are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).
Note: This prestigious scholarship is awarded in the 31 October scholarship round only. Eligible applicants from Rounds 1 through to 4 (of the same year) will automatically be considered for nomination by the relevant faculty.
Many scholarships can have different application processes. Make sure to read the application details carefully and submit your application by the deadline.
If you are a new applicant, you must have obtained an invitation to apply from the relevant faculty before starting your application.
