Nottingham Law School is delighted to offer a number of competitive professional courses scholarships that are worth up to half the value of your tuition fee:

  1. Nottingham Law School’s Professional Courses Scholarship for Academic Excellence – for students who can demonstrate a commitment to and achievement of excellence in their academic background and in other areas such as work and personal life.
  2. Nottingham Law School’s Professional Courses Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement –    for students who have overcome significant challenges in their social, personal or educational lives.

These scholarship schemes are competitive, and we award scholarships to the applicants who most closely meet or exceed the criteria for the award. The scholarship decision is made by an awarding committee and all decisions of the committee are final.

Requirements for NTU Nottingham Law School’s Professional Courses Scholarships Qualification

To be eligible to apply for the Nottingham Law School’s Professional Courses Scholarship for Academic Excellence or Nottingham Law School’s Professional Courses Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement, applicants must:

  • Have been offered a place on one of the below eligible courses:
    • LLM Legal Practice Course FT/PT
    • LLM SQE 1 Preparation Course FT/PT
    • LLM SQE 1 & 2 Preparation Course FT/PT
    • LLM Law and Legal Practice – SQE 1 Preparation Course FT/PT
    • PG Diploma in Law FT/PT
    • LLM Law and Legal Practice ~ Barristers Training Course FT
    • PGDip/LLM Barristers Training Course FT
  • Applicants may only apply for one scholarship, once per academic year,  per offer. The offer of a place must be on an eligible course.
  • Please do not send your scholarship application before or with your application to study at NTU. You must have received an offer of a place on an eligible course and been allocated an NTU ID number before submitting your scholarship application.
  • Students who receive sponsorship (i.e., some or all of your tuition fees are being paid for) by an employer, government or a funding body are not eligible to apply for this scholarship award.
  • Applicants are only eligible to apply for a scholarship if they are due to enrol on the first year of an eligible course starting in September 2024.
  • Applicants must be starting a new postgraduate course. NTU cannot consider applications from students who are currently studying at NTU unless progressing onto a new postgraduate course.
  • Applications received after 16:00 BST (4pm) on the deadline date will not be considered.
  • This application form is for eligible postgraduate taught master’s courses only. Please do not use this form to apply for undergraduate scholarships or research funding.

Interview date, Process and Venue for NTU Nottingham Law School’s Professional Courses Scholarships

  • Applicants will be informed whether they have (or have not) been awarded a scholarship (and of the value of the scholarship award) within four weeks of the application deadline date.
  • The scholarship will be awarded when an applicant accepts their scholarship offer, accepts, and meets the conditions of their course offer, and is eligible to enrol on the course. If you do not formally accept the scholarship by the given deadline, then NTU reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship and award it to another candidate.
  • Scholarships are competitive, and selection is based on the information provided on the scholarship application form. It is, therefore, of great importance that you give your scholarship statements careful thought and preparation, and that you refer to the criteria provided on the application form.
