The Open Brazil Power Program is a groundbreaking initiative by Enel Foundation and SEforALL to empower the next generation of Brazilian energy leaders. This first edition in 2025 will provide selected participants with cutting-edge training in energy systems, regulatory frameworks, innovation, and business skills to advance Brazil’s clean energy future.
Designed in partnership with top academic institutions in Brazil, Italy, and Africa, the program blends technical expertise with leadership development—cultivating professionals who are ready to shape the sustainable energy sector, both locally and globally.
What You’ll Learn
The program is delivered in three structured modules, featuring global experts from academia and industry:
1. Digital Brazilian Module: State of the Art
Timeline: Mid-August to Mid-September 2025 (Online)
Delivered by: Grupo de Estudos do Setor Elétrico (GESEL), Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)
Topics:
- Energy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Renewable energy technologies, hydrogen, and storage
- Regulatory frameworks and carbon market mechanisms in Brazil
- Project financing and innovation in distributed energy systems
Final Assignment: Multiple-choice online test based on module content.
2. Italian Module: New Frontiers
Timeline: Q4 2025 (8-week Online Course)
Delivered by: Politecnico di Torino, Politecnico di Milano, SDA Bocconi
Topics:
- Additive manufacturing and smart networks
- ICT applications in energy
- Climate impact and decision-making under uncertainty
- Drivers of the global energy transition
3. Give Back Module
Upon completing the program, selected alumni may be invited to participate in teaching and outreach activities to inspire the next generation of energy professionals in Brazil and beyond.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must:
- Be Brazilian citizens, aged 24–35 by 17 July 2025
- Reside in Brazil or plan to relocate by the end of 2025
- Hold a Master’s, MBA, LLM, MPP, or PhD degree by 17 July 2025
- Note: Bachelor’s-only or current Master’s students are not eligible
- Hold at least one degree from a Brazilian university
- Have strong interest or experience in the electricity or energy sector
- Be fully proficient in English (CEFR level C1 or above)
- Show a commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment
Women are especially encouraged to apply. The program will ensure that at least 50% of participants are women, recognizing their critical role in the energy transition.

Selection Process
The selection will occur in two phases:
Phase 1: Selection for Brazilian Module
Up to 30 participants will be selected based on:
- Academic qualifications
- Relevant professional experience
- Motivation and reference letters
Phase 2: Selection for Italian Module
Following completion of the Brazilian Module, top performers—based on the final assignment, participation, and engagement—will be invited to continue into the Italian Module.
All decisions made by the program organizers are final. Updates or changes to the program or selection process will be published on the Enel Foundation website.
