North Pacific Research Board Photo Contest 2021: (Deadline 19 March 2021)
Applications are open for North Pacific Research Board Photo Contest 2021. This is an annual photo contest for amateur and professional photographers. Awards are given to those who best depict images of sea life, coastal scenes, and marine research within U.S. waters of the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, and the Arctic Ocean. From tiny plankton to some of Earth’s largest creatures, NPRB has seen it all with the annual photo contest. As NPRB develops programs and educational materials, these images are used to help tell the stories of research, understanding, and life along with coastal Alaska.
The North Pacific Research Board Photo Contest has the following prizes
- 1st Prize: $1200
- 2nd Prize: $600
- 3rd Prize: $300
- 1st Prize: $600
- 2nd Prize: $400
- 3rd Prize: $200
- The contest is open to photographers of all skill levels who are residents of the United States, except employees of NPRB or their families, members of the NPRB Board of Directors and their immediate families, and members of NPRB Science Panel or Advisory Panel.
- Non-US residents are welcome to participate in the contest but will not be eligible for a cash prize. Both professionals and amateurs are encouraged to submit.
- The contest includes two categories: an Adult Category (18 and older) and a Youth Category (under 18).
Images that are submitted to the contest must depict sea life, seascapes, coastal scenes, and/or marine research within the waters of the North Pacific Ocean including the Arctic Ocean, Bering Sea, and Gulf of Alaska. Up to five images may be submitted for the contest per entrant.
