The 6-month-long HALO Trust Intern programme is remote, requires full-time work hours, and pays the federal minimum wage.
The biggest and most established international humanitarian mine action NGO in the world is called The HALO Trust. Our goal is to rescue people from conflict and help them resume their way of life. When it comes to eliminating explosive threats like bombs, rockets, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), HALO is well-known for its work clearing landmines. Since its founding in Afghanistan in 1988, HALO has grown to employ more than 11,000 people in 30 different nations and territories.
They are looking for a motivated and proactive recent graduate or student who can work across the business to fill a paid internship job. The chosen candidate will work throughout the business, reporting to the Chief of Staff, and will obtain priceless experience that will help them in their future professional endeavours.
This would be a full-time position that would last about six months. HALO’s office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 17:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Fridays end early at 15:30.
While this is a remote work role, it does require frequent access to our offices in Wilton, near Salisbury, and Thornhill, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Although Monday, July 15th would be the best date to start, this is negotiable for the right applicant.
Assisting teams with HALO Programmes, helping HQ departments with administrative work, taking minutes at meetings, assisting the Chief of Staff, planning HALO’s Annual Cross Briefing event, updating internal databases, creating HALO’s Goal 3, delivering bi-weekly news updates for Afghanistan, and producing research papers on HALO-related subjects are all part of the job description.
