Performing Art Value Chain Development Specialist at Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy: (Deadline 11 March 2022)
Job description
FUNCTIONS:
1. Carry out research on dance (traditional, modern and contemporary), Music (Traditional and contemporary), Drama (Stage drama, Radio theater, comedy) and other artistic performances (Performed poetry, modeling and story telling) in Rwanda;
2. Conduct research on the status of Performing Art and conduct the value chain training on Performing Arts in Rwanda;
3. Participate in the development of Policy, regulations and strategies governing CCI in Rwanda;
4. Monitor the implementation of policy, regulations and strategies governing the CCI in Rwanda;
5. Promote and monitor the implementation of Intellectual Property (IP) and Copyright law in Performing Art in Rwanda.
TASKS:
Monitor of the cultural events organized by the performers;
Conduct needs assessment of performing Arts with the view to develop cultural and creative industry in Rwanda;
Facilitate the performers to collaborate with the partners, investors in the cultural and creative industries(CCIs), private and public institutions nationally and abroad;
Participate in carrying out a market study of artistic works of cultural and creative industries (CCIs) in Rwanda;
Provide technical advices on the issuing of legal documents related to performing arts;
Contribute to the induction and training of performers for promotion of Cultural and Creative Industries in Rwanda (CCIs);
Develop a mechanism to attract the private investments in performing arts in Rwanda;
Ensure effective, regular and strategic communication of performing Arts.
Organize the competitions and awards related to performing Arts;
Organize the talent detection related to performing Arts;
Felicitate the performing Artists in the participation in national and international festivals and exhibitions;
Ensure the digitalization of traditional music, traditional dance and traditional dance drama;
Conduct a survey on identification of traditional musical instruments and their conservation in Art Museum;
Perform other duties falling within his or her responsibilities as may be assigned to him or her by Division Manager.
