How can you make a difference?

You will support the Deputy Representative (Programme) by providing administrative and organizational support in carrying out a range of programme support functions to help develop, implement and monitor the UNICEF Country Programme,.

You will work in close collaboration with a range of staff in the Office, external partners and agency counterparts in support of programme design and delivery.

You will also provide administrative and managerial support to the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) Section and the Social Behavior Change (SBC) Unit on programme budget management, and regular feedback on the status of projects through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Deputy Representative (Programme) including managing the calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings, and organizing travel arrangements. Prepare agendas and materials for meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items. Assist with preparation and coordination of office events and conferences.
  • Support the Deputy Representative in researching, compiling and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and information as well as drafting reports, working papers and presentations.
  • Ensure timely and efficient flow of information and knowledge management, including summarizing brief analytical reports as requested, and maintaining the knowledge management folders for programmes in the office SharePoint.
  • Support result mobilization and donor relationship management. Manage a database of resource mobilization status, donor information and donor report schedules. Support the monitoring of the office reporting calendar and alert the Deputy Representative any risks in timely submission of all reports.
  • Regularly monitor budgets and financial expenditures of budget under Deputy Representative and Programme Effectiveness keeping the Deputy Representative informed and advised on actions for decision and/or follow up. Help prepare periodic or ad-hoc financial reports relating to country office and donors to support the office in optimizing use of programme funds.
  • Support capacity development activities related to programme development

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education is required. A university degree in Social Sciences would be an asset.
  • A minimum of six years of administrative or clerical work experience is required.
  • Prior experience in programme support functions is an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is an asset

  • Ability to effectively manage the section’s material resources and monitor its budget.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and  SharePoint
