SOCIAL WORKER RECRUITMENT NOTICE

The Center Cyprien et Daphrose Rugamba (CECYDAR) wishes to recruit a social worker whose tasks and responsibilities are as follows:

General Description of the Position

Coordinate social assistance interventions for vulnerable families of vulnerable children in CECYDAR intervention Districts by ensuring collaboration with partners and local communities in order to better reach beneficiaries and respond adequately to their concerns for well-being.

CECYDAR

The CECYDAR – Center Cyprien & Daphrose Rugamba, located in Remera in the Gasabo District, City of Kigali (administrative headquarters) and it operates in the peripheral districts, is a non-profit organization under Rwandan law born in 1992 under the inspiration of the couple Cyprien and Daphrose Rugamba. This couple, out of the ordinary, let themselves be touched by the miserable living conditions of street children as well as by their lively and leader side to face the challenge that the world poses to charity: to see young children who live on drugs, garbage and who are not in school! This was the birth of an initiative rooted in the Philosophy of Rugamba:  “… aba baterashozi bitaweho bavamo abaterashema  “ to say that Street children can become the pride of society. This couple was assassinated at the start of the Genocide against the Tutsis in 1994 and from then on, the Emmanuel Community of Rwanda, of which they were the initiators in Rwanda, took over.

The vision of CECYDAR is to accompany the child and his family for “A life of dignity  and a promising future for every child”,  stated in its mission which is to  “Support vulnerable children and their families physically, psychologically, socially, economically. , spiritually and intellectually ” , through its values ​​which will help to shape the culture of the organization, in particular:   Compassion, Hospitality,  Hope ,  Catholic Faith  and  Professionalism .

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate the service and the teams under his responsibility;
  •  Identify, welcome and guide the potential beneficiaries of the organization in charge and analyze their priority needs and propose an appropriate response framework (intervention plan);
  •  Establish an integrated intervention plan to meet the individual needs (rehabilitation, education, health, psychosocial support, economic strengthening, etc.) of each family;
  • Ensure the rehabilitation, reintegration and specialized follow-up of each family;
  • Support the grouping of families into Associations;
  • Support families in the development and management of small income-generating projects;
  • Ensure the strategic framework for sensitization, establishment and technical support of associations by creating links and their collaboration with banks and other financial institutions;
  •  Coordinate and follow the associations of parents in their respective communities;
  • Advocate in favor of vulnerable families to have access to the services available in the community;
  •  Collaborate with local authorities in research and capacity building of families;
  • Perform the duties of educator of children at the request of his hierarchical superiors;
  • Establish a strategic framework for monitoring children reintegrated into their families and ensure their stability;
  •  Establish a strategic framework for carrying out post-reintegration monitoring of children (ie home visits to families in need, educational monitoring of vulnerable children;
  • Assume the position of the reference person for all social issues of children and families.

Auxiliary duties and responsibilities

  • Participate in restitution meetings and give supportive orientations to families;
  •  Carry out activities in the field according to the indications provided by the hierarchical superior;
  •  Complete the work tools according to the indications received from the supervisors and Evaluation of the Organization’s Programs;
  •  Write daily reports on activities related to his service, to present to his Supervisor, donors and other potential partners;
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of the organization in the field according to the indications given and according to the mission of the organization;
  • Contribute to the development, strengthening and maintenance of good relations and collaboration with other stakeholders working in Districts and in the same areas as those of CECYDAR;
  • Contribute to the smooth running of collaboration with various stakeholders (ie Donors, Local Authorities and partners, JADF, etc.);
  • Contribute in the development of strategies, in the elaboration of new projects, in the mobilization of new resources and funds or any other strategy intended to support the viability of the organization’s programs.

Required profile

  •  Have at least an A0 degree in Social Sciences;
  • Have a professional experience of at least 3 years with vulnerable families in the community; Demonstrate the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
  •  Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to contact and collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders in the field of child protection and the well-being of families
  •  Demonstrate the ability to open up and acquire new knowledge
  • Demonstrate the capacity for creativity and flexibility
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities
  • Demonstrate a sense of organization and prioritization;
  • Demonstrate a team spirit and collaboration
  •  Having human and social values, Christian values ​​would be an asset;
  • Have an excellent level of spoken and written language in Kinyarwanda, French and English;
  •  Have the usual practice of computer tools and software for office and electronic communication.
