The fellowship is open to master’s students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers from outside Switzerland. Applicants must be actively enrolled or employed at their home institution throughout the fellowship and should not have previously studied or worked at the host institution in Switzerland. Their current research or study program must complement the work of the chosen host research group.

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) is Switzerland’s leading organization for the promotion of scientific research. Funded by the federal government, the SNSF supports high-quality, innovative research across all academic disciplines—from the humanities and social sciences to natural and engineering sciences. • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current Master’s student, PhD candidate, or postdoctoral researcher.

     

  • Be engaged in an educational or research program that complements the host research group.

  • Remain enrolled or employed at their home institution during the fellowship.

     

  • For PhD/postdoc applicants: Salary must continue to be paid by the home institution.

     

  • Must not have studied or worked at the host institution in Switzerland before.

  • Must meet the specific admission requirements of the host institution.
