Description

As part of a broader commitment made during the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa, the UK government has introduced a Time Limited Programme (TLP) offering up to 40 Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships over 2026 and 2027. These are exclusively for students from Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

This initiative was launched under the vision:

“One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth.”

Degree Level

Time Limited Commonwealth UK Master’s Scholarship 2026-2027 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Masters level programs at UK Universities.

Selected scholars will receive a fully-funded opportunity to study in the UK, including:

1. Full tuition fees
2. Monthly living stipend (as per UK university location rate)
3. Travel to and from the UK
4. Thesis grant (if applicable)

6. Child allowance (if studying with family, conditions apply)
7. Support for disability or special needs (if declared)

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the TLP Master’s Awards, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a citizen or permanent resident of one of the eligible SIDS countries listed below.
2. Must not be currently living or studying in the UK.
3. Hold an undergraduate degree (normally upper second-class honours or above).
4. Demonstrate financial need and inability to study in the UK without the scholarship.
5. Apply to a course related to at least one of the following resilience-focused themes:

1- Democratic institutions and human rights

2- Climate change and environmental protection

3- Economic resilience and sustainable recovery

4- Societal empowerment and inclusive development

1. Apply through National or NGO nominating agencies recognized by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC).
