Job description

Reporting to the Coordinator of Traditional Export Crops Innovation and Technology Transfer Senior Research Technician has the following responsibilities.

– Assist in the implementation of research and technology transfer activities
– Identify on ground areas of activity intervention on system agronomy and technology transfer
– Collect supervise collection of field data from implemented activities for system agronomy and technology transfer
– Produce field activity technical reports (weekly, quarterly and annually)
– Develop of participate in development and promotion field innovations
– Assembly, organize and keep record of field information and data from legacy and ongoing research experiments
– Provide field technical assistance to farmers and multi-actor stakeholders
– Organize and avail field data for analysis and synthesis
– Conduct monitoring and evaluation of on field activities
– Provide feedback information from famer’s field activity implementation
– Carry out any other tasks suggested by supervisors
– Ensure resource use efficiency leading to clean audit reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Crop Production

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Crop Sciences

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Sciences

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Having co-generated at least three (3) innovations or technologies for agriculture development

  • Having produced at least fifteen (15) technical reports

  • Having led or contributed to the production and dissemination of at least eight (8) extension materials including technical guidelines, documentary films, and other extension materials for innovations aiming to increase farmer’s production, productivity and resilience capacities

  • Proven experience to work with farmers in research and extension

  • Capacity in project development and resource Mobilization
