The Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) of UNIDO, supported by the Global Environment Facility and the Green Climate Fund, champions the next generations of cleantech innovators to deliver sustainable solutions for climate challenges, just energy transition and low-carbon sustainable development.
GCIP supports UNIDO’s climate action agenda by accelerating high-impact cleantech innovations, promoting sustainable and low-emission industries and fostering international collaboration, including through the South-South and Triangular Cooperation. By focusing on innovation growth, emissions reduction and just transitions, GCIP promotes inclusive and sustainable industrial development. Requirements
- The primary direct beneficiaries of GCIP are early-stage start-ups and SMEs developing innovative cleantech solutions in the following areas: energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste beneficiation, water efficiency, green buildings, transportation, advanced materials and chemicals.
- GCIP also provides support to national government institutions in the partner countries, R&D organizations, industry associations and other stakeholders involved in the development of cleantech innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
