The University of Geneva Excellence Masters Scholarship aims to support outstanding and highly motivated candidates who intend to pursue a Master of Science in any of the disciplines covered by the Faculty.

The Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship consists of a grant amounting to CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000/year and extended for the regular duration of the chosen Master’s program.

University of Geneva Excellence Masters Scholarship Details:

The Faculty of Science of the University of Geneva, in collaboration with several sponsors, has established an Excellence Masters Fellowship Program for international students to study in Switzerland.

The Masters of the Faculty of Science constitute an ideal training base for academic and professional development, opening careers in industry, teaching, and administration in sciences, communication, and media.

The fellowship Master’s degrees are either entirely in English or in English and French. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship 2026 Requirements:

To be considered for the Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship, note the following requirements:

  • Application for an University of Geneva Excellence Fellowship is open to students from any university with very good performance in their studies (belonging to the best 10% of their bachelor’s program) and that have completed the Bachelor degree or expect to complete it within 6 months.
  • Selection of the applicants will be based on excellence.
  • Evaluation will be made on the basis of the documentation sent by the applicants.
  • French proficiency is not a formal requirement for the Masters of the Faculty of science.

How To Apply for University of Geneva Excellence Masters Scholarship

For the application to be considered for the Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship, each student has to

  • Fulfill the enrollment procedure as described on the Admissions office website
  • The application is made online, from the beginning of January of each year. After registering, you will receive an e-mail containing a personal link allowing you to fill out the application form.
  • Next application deadline is 28 February, 2026 (for Masters starting September 15, 2026).
