University of Guelph National Humanities Fellowship in Canada 2026-27 [Fully Funded] Deadline: 2 October, 2025

Fellowship Details:

Applications are invited from International Students to apply for the University of Guelph National Humanities Fellowship in Canada for the academic year 2026-27. Students from all countries can apply for a fully-funded scholarship to pursue a Doctorate Degree Program. No registration fee will be charged to candidates. All of the Major Subjects and specialisations, such as humanities, are offered at the Centre, which admits persons from the scientific and social sciences, the arts, the professions, and public life who are involved in humanistic initiatives. 

Students with excellent academic experiences with advanced humanities research study, regardless of citizenship, regions, languages or national background, are strongly encouraged to apply for fellowships at the Country Humanities Centre. Every year, many academics from countries other than the United States join the Centre’s batch of Fellows in North Carolina, contributing to the National Humanities Fellowship program’s rich intellectual and cultural environment.

The National Humanities Centre offers a wide range of researchers from all over the world and from all humanistic faculties every year. Fellows are given the flexibility to concentrate on their ideas while benefiting from the Centre’s outstanding services throughout their time in residence. Private study, light-filled common rooms, lush gardens and many more study fields are available at the magnificent Archie K. Davis building. Additionally, the Research Centre offers outstanding library services, breakfasts, lunches and other study-related opportunities in the dining area and administrative assistance in arranging seminars and study groups for successful researchers.

Brief Description of National Humanities Fellowship:

National Humanities Fellowship Financial Coverage:

Selected Students will be provided with almost all study expenses by the government of Canada during the Study. International Students get the following benefits:

• The stipend levels for Fellows are set on an individual basis, based on the scholars’ requirements and the Centre’s capacity to accommodate them.
• Fellowships are supported by the Centre’s foundation, private foundations, gifts from students and alumni, and the National Scholarship for the Humanities.
• The Centre intends to pay half of the Fellow’s salary up to $65,000, with the hope that the Fellow’s home institution will fund the remaining cost.

Almost all the study fields regarding Humanities Research have been offered at the National Humanities Centre Fellowship 2026-27 in Canada. Doctoral degrees take 3-4 years to complete. Details of programs are below:

Eligibility For National Humanities Fellowship:

All the following terms and conditions must be fulfilled by the applicants to succeed in the scholarship:

• Applicants must hold a PhD or other intellectual qualifications.
• Senior and mid-career academics are invited to apply.
• Emerging academics with a good track record of peer-reviewed work are also encouraged to apply. The Centre opposes the modification of the doctoral dissertation.
• The Centre invites persons from the scientific and social sciences, the arts, the professions, and public life who are involved in humanistic initiatives, in addition to researchers from all disciplines of the humanities.

Required Documents For National Humanities Fellowship:

The given is the list of required documents needed to be uploaded during the electronic application. Details are below the lines:

• 1,000-word project proposal
• short bibliography (up to two pages)
• Curriculum vitae (up to four pages)
• a one-page rough overview of the project’s structure (if the project is a book, provide an outline of chapters; otherwise, give an outline of the components of the project and their progress to date)
• In addition, applicants will be required to supply the names and contact information for three references.
