If you’re between 14 and 24 years old and leading a project to protect or restore nature, you can apply for a prize. Your project must be run mostly by young people in this age range, and they should have the power to make decisions independently. Your project should focus on protecting nature and supporting the rights of those who defend it.
Even if your project is associated with a larger organization, you should still have control over it. Safety is important, especially if you’re under 18. In that case, you’ll need a local organization to help manage the financial side of things.
We like projects that are led by young people and focus on areas important to local communities. Your project can be just an idea, a small project, or something already running but with room to grow. We give priority to projects in the Global South, but we also consider great projects from other places.
We want projects that are committed to including everyone, no matter their background. There are different prize categories based on the stage of your project, and each comes with a different amount of money. If you’re not sure which category to apply for, you can email the Iris Project for guidance.
