Wyoming, Minnesota, Overview Our Same Day Surgerynursing staffprovides quality and compassionate care for patients before and after same-day surgery/procedure as well as surgeries that occur before and during admissionto the hospital.

We provide emotional & educationalsupport and coaching with preoperative phone calls, during their stay with us and post-operative follow up phone calls.

Because our department has a rapid turnover of short-term patients, our staff must have good assessment skills, the desire to work as a team and the ability to adapt to changing situations.

Other information about the position: This position is located in Wyoming, MN Casual Day and evening rotation; 8 and 12 hour shifts Weekends as needed Schedule requires call shifts during the week, on weekends and holidays Off premise call during weekdays and weekends Currently the department does not have weekend responsibilities outside of call responsibilities; however, this may change due to patient care needs Responsibilities/Job Description The Registered Nurse in Perioperative Servicesis responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) who are anticipating and recovering fromprocedure(s) and anesthesia.

The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Job dutiesmay include: PreOperative Phone calls PreOperative Assessment/prep for procedure Ongoing Patient Education Continuous teamwork/interactive with colleagues Recovery from procedures and Anesthesia (PACU/Phase 2) Prep for discharge or disposition from unit.

Post Op Phone calls Charge Nurse Role Preceptorship Qualifications Required Associates Degree in Nursing 2 years recent PACU experience (within the last three years) or 2 years recent Critical Care experience (within the last three years)or example, but not limited to: Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Department License/Certification/Registration Current Minnesota RN License in good standing BLS upon hire ACLS upon hire PALS within 3 months of hire Preferred Bachelors Degree in Nursing 2 years recent PACU experience (within the last three years) We can recommend jobs specifically for you.
