Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025/26 is now open for applications, offering a transformative, fully funded program designed to uplift African women leaders in public and global health. This prestigious one-year fellowship includes virtual learning sessions, one-on-one mentorship, a week-long in-person workshop, and a financial stipend—all aimed at strengthening leadership capacity and promoting gender equity in global health systems.

Targeted at experienced professionals, the Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship is open to African women based in Kenya or South Africa with 5 to 15 years of experience in public health, health policy, or related fields. Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) and be actively engaged in research, policy, teaching, or health practice. Hosted by the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, this program empowers future leaders through world-class training, equity-driven education, and global networking opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria for Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025

 

 

  • Eligible Countries: Kenya and South Africa
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship will be awarded in public health, health sciences, health policy, or related fields offered by the partnering institutions.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Identify as a woman
    • Be early to mid-career (5–15 years of experience) in local, regional, or global health work
    • Hold a postgraduate degree (MA or PhD) in public health, health sciences, health policy, or related fields
    • Work in roles focused on public health policy, practice, teaching, or research
    • Show demonstrated leadership through education, employment, or community service
    • Reside and work in Kenya or South Africa
    • Be an African national
    • Have fluency in English
    • Be able to attend a one-week in-person training session
    • Have employer support to participate in the fellowship
