World Water Challenge 2025: Global Call for Water Solutions Now Open (Deadline: 25 July, 2025)

The World Water Challenge (WWCH) is a prestigious international contest aimed at identifying and solving pressing global water issues. It is hosted by the Ministry of Environment of Korea and organized by the Korea Water Forum.

First launched during the 7th World Water Forum, the WWCH was developed as a flagship program of the Science and Technology Process, rooted in the core principle of “Implementation.” Since then, it has evolved into one of the key initiatives under the umbrella of Korea International Water Week (KIWW).

The WWCH serves as a vital platform to:

• Share practical and innovative scientific or technological water solutions

• Promote policy-based approaches to water challenges

• Facilitate international cooperation and knowledge exchange

• Build a global network among water experts, stakeholders, and solution providers

Call for Solutions: WWCH 2025 Now Open

The World Water Challenge 2025 is now accepting submissions from individuals and organizations across the globe who are passionate about solving water-related issues.

Who Can Apply

• Open to any individual or organization interested in addressing water challenges

• Applicants may apply either independently or on behalf of a group or institution

Application Process

Participants must complete their submission through the web-based submission system on the KIWW website. Prior registration on the KIWW site is required before submitting a proposal.

Important Submission Details

• Deadline for submission: July 25, 2025 (KST)

• Submissions must:

  • Be written in English

  • Use the official Solution Submission Template

  • Include a graphical abstract (e.g., schematic diagram, picture, or animation) as a separate file

Awards and Benefits

• The WWCH 2025 Final Round will take place during Korea International Water Week 2025 (KIWW 2025)

• Winners may receive various prizes; however, if no submission qualifies for the “THE BEST” award, the prize may not be granted

• The winner of the BEST Prize will be invited to speak at WWCH 2026, offering a prestigious global platform for thought leadership
