Impinganzima Hostel provides high quality residential, meals, nursing and counseling care that is concentrated on improving Intwaza’ wellbeing and overall quality of life. Under the support of FARG and other different partners, AVEGA wishes to recruit dedicated team to fulfill the following different positions at Rusizi Impinganzima Hostel:
Coordinator of Impinganzima Hostel, a Logistics Officer, caregivers, Kitchen staffs, Cleaners, psychologist and two nurses
- Position: COORDINATOR( one position)
Reports to: Executive Secretary of AVEGA AGAHOZO
External Relationships: FARG, NGOs, Health institutions, visitors and other Partner institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor staffing and systems to ensure standards of care are maintained
- Ensure care needs of residents are met through regular assessment, reviews and consultation with health care professionals
- Ensure staffing is maintained with the appropriate skills mix to meet operational needs
- Develop and monitor annual budget
- Comply with reporting requirements of AVEGA AGAHOZO
- Provide monthly report on operational cost
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for a professional with the following qualifications and experience:
Qualification
A0 in Social work, Sociology, Psychology, Management and other related field
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in project management and working in the elder care related field is an added advantage.
- Experience in management of restricted funds.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Ability to work independently
- Strategic planning and problem-solving
- Excellent reporting and writing skills
- Fluent in written and spoken Kinyarwanda, English or French; knowledge of all is an advantage
- Position: Nurse (two)
Reports to: Coordinator of Impinganzima Hostel
Duties and Responsibilities
- assessing and planning nursing care requirements
- providing pre- and post-operation care
- monitoring and administering medication and intravenous infusions
- taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures
- writing records
- Ensuring that patients are treated with respect and dignity at all times
- Investigate incidents related to patients’ care, dignity and safety
- To provide emotional support to patients
Qualification required
- A1 in Nursing
- Registered in nursing and midwives council
Experience Required
Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in nursing
- Position: Logistics Officer (one Position)
Reports to: Coordinator of IMPINGANZIMA Hostel
External Relationships: Suppliers and other partners
- Managing logistics operations: develop and implement the methodologies and tools to enable effective execution of logistic plans;
- Ensure daily management of logistics in order to facilitate the proper functioning of works;
- Ensure the codification and record of material
- Elaborate periodic inventory of fixed and non -fixed assets
- Ensure the delivery of material or equipment ordered to the Institution;
- Organize and supervise distribution of purchased assets;
- Ensure maintenance of non-fixed assets;
- Provide a written technical advice for the decommissioning of damaged or depreciated equipments
- Participate in elaboration of Contract for maintenance, service and equipments.
- Ensure proper management of vehicles;
- Ensure proper management of fuel
Qualification required
- A0 in management, Logistics, finance, business administration and other related field
Experience Required
Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in logistics or management, finance, accounting related field
- Position: Psychologist
Reports to: Coordinator of IMPINGANZIMA Hostel
Duties and Responsibilities
- assessing a hostel member’s needs, abilities or behavior using a variety of methods including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of behavior;
- working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, social workers, education professionals, health visitors, psychiatrists and occupational therapists;
- devising and monitoring appropriate treatment programmes, including therapy, counseling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues;
- offering therapy and treatments for difficulties relating to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, social and interpersonal problems and challenging behavior;
- developing and evaluating service provision for clients;
- counseling and supporting carers;
- carrying out applied research, adding to the evidence base of practice in a variety of healthcare settings
Qualification required
Degree in Clinical Psychology, mental health or equivalent
Experience Required
- 2+ years’ experience in clinical psychology, mental health primary care or behavioral medicine preferred
- In-depth knowledge and experience in individual, group, couples and family psychology
- Position: Cook (3 Positions)
Reports to: Coordinator of IMPINGANZIMA Hostel
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Requirements
- Proven experience as cook and Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition
- High school diploma or equivalent;
One of the above cook, with highest qualification and experienced than others will be a kitchen Leader
- Caregiver (5)
Reports to: Coordinator
Job description
- Assist Intwaza with personal care, including dressing, mobility, administering medication, personal hygiene, eating and transporting to doctor’s appointments
- Monitor patient medications and update health charts
- Maintain open communication between families and health care professionals regarding client’s medical and emotional condition
- Document and report any changes in client’s health status
- Ensure highest Intwaza safety and well-being
Requirement
- High school diploma required (college degree preferred)
- Current and valid first aid certification
- Extensive experience working with the elderly
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills
- Experience and knowledge working with patients who have chronic and acute conditions
- Ability to problem solve quickly
- Nursing background is an asset
- Cleaners (5)
Reports to: Logistics Officer
We are looking for a Cleaner to take care of our Impinganzima facilities and carry out cleaning and maintenance duties.
Responsibilities
- Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
- Make adjustments and minor repairs
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Cooperate with the rest of the staff
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a cleaner
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Integrity
- Primary school Certificate
