Investor Relations Senior Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordination and preparation of the MTN annual report.

  • Execute the Investor Relation strategy for the company.

  • Design an investor communication plan and material by liaising across functions to acquire and incorporate information from the Finance, Marketing, Balance Sheet Management, Tax, Legal and Accounting teams.

  • Create and update a consistent external message by drafting key financial statements, presentations, and analysis for use by management during investor appointments, including trading and operating updates and financial commentary.

  • Manage the creation and development of investor relations marketing material, documentation, and presentations for both equity and debt investors.

  • Manage the investor relations website and development of a communication plan to ensure engaging content is regularly uploaded on the website.

  • Support the creation of thought-leadership and industry update communications to investors.

  • Identify new potential investor relationships to develop and create an engagement plan to convert them into investors through multiple touchpoints.

  • Develop and maintain an investor relations plan for the company.

  • Coordinate with the Financial Planning & Business insights team to provide on-going market and competitor research, including monitoring of peer performance, investment vehicles and financial strategies.

  • Build strong relationships by providing leadership to others and expressing positive expectations.

  • Positively influence and manage change and offer specialist support where required.

  • Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas and involvement of colleagues and staff

  • A degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance or Economics

  • A registered Chartered Accountant (preferred)

  • Previous experience in Investor Relations (preferred)

  • Work experience of at least 3 years in a Finance or Actuarial role within a financial service

  • Exposure in analysing financial statements and conducting performance reviews

  • Strong financial analysis and relationship building skills

Products, Segments and Value Propositions Manager

  • Drive the effective implementation of MTN Rwanda’s Consumer segments value propositions and customer experience, ensuring maximum market penetration, growth, and profitability in the Youth, High Value Customer (HVC), Mass and Home segments.

  • Understand the needs of each segment with respect to voice, data and digital, and develop solutions that drive customer affinity, customer delight and customer lifetime value.

  • Manage the implementation of marketing frameworks for each segment to increase brand presence.

  • Own the product development process and ensure all key milestones from concept understanding, requirements gathering, feasibility assessment, business case approval, implementation and launch, run smoothly by working seamlessly with relevant stakeholders (Commercial, Technical and Financial).

  • Provide input and make recommendations to the Chief Consumer and Digital Officer on the development of viable frameworks (innovation, design, build and refine) targeted at each segment, ensuring alignment with MTN Group’s Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and driving a fast response to the market.

  • Ensure speed-to-market in the execution of the product and propositions roadmap by working seamlessly with all stakeholders.

  • Own the product roadmap and ensure efficient launch of services by working closely with Brand and Marketing Communications and Sales and Distribution.

  • Be the liaison between the Consumer team and Technology to translate customer insights and requirements into technically feasible products and services, working across current and new system capabilities.

  • Increase the penetration of voice, data and digital within each Segment through insights-led products and services that encourage trial and adoption.

  • Increase data and smartphone penetration by collaborating with the Devices Manager and working actively with external device partners, CVM, Network, Sales and Distribution, etc. to coordinate all necessary activities.

  • Proactively manage the product lifecycle to ensure relevant, timely interventions along the curve of each product and ensure the end-of-life and product retirement is actively enforced.

  • Build and manage productive relationships with external vendors to maximize breadth of portfolio and deepen penetration of new products and services.

  • Own the Post Implementation Review process to evaluate all new products against the agreed business case; identify and explain gaps versus expectation and work with stakeholders.

  • Drive overall NPS by ensuring the company leads on value perception and easy-to-use products and services measurements in-market.

  • Ensure quality control and maintenance of GTM artefacts (e.g., document and toolkits).

  • Propose market research areas aimed at acquiring intelligence on the preferences and behavioural patterns of each segment and embed a deep understanding of the insights within the business.

  • Participate in the implementation of strategic initiatives to improve customer experience and participate in regular third-party audits and recommend improvements where necessary.

  • Ensure the team collaborates with Internal Audit teams to perform periodic quality and process audits.

  • Exhibit great stakeholder management by being a channel between Finance, Customer Value Management, Technology, Brand and Marketing Communications, Enterprise Business Unit and Sales and Distribution to ensure effective delivery, alignment and readiness on all new product/service launches.

  • Communicate the product roadmap across all relevant levels of the organization.

  • Identify required resources, personnel, and funding to achieve team goals.

  • Lead the Products and Segments team to effectively deliver on their respective portfolios.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics

    • Masters’ degree may be advantageous

    • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Telecommunications or FMCG, Working across Product development and Marketing in emerging markets

    • Fluent in English & Kinyarwanda

      RMS (Rich Media Services) Coordinator (Video & Messaging)

      • Execute growth strategy for Video and Messaging services in line with MTN Rwanda’s business plan.

      • Coordinate RMS projects related to Video and Messaging and implement plans to deliver MTN Rwanda’s promises to clients.

      • Develop and execute RMS Video and Messaging product roadmap.

      • Manage Video and Messaging projects end-to-end from commercial negotiations, product implementation and up to commercial launches.

      • Manage existing services and develop initiatives to maximise capabilities in the delivery of Video and Messaging services for relevant market segments.

      • Manage partnerships and liaise with content and platform providers to review specifications and commercial conformity periodically.

      • Liaise with relevant internal and external stake holders for new content on boarding. These can be, but are not limited to, Content Providers, Aggregators, Capital Projects Group, IT Operations & NWG.

      • Monitor and follow through all technical & non-technical requirements from third party aggregators and works closely with, IT & NWG to resolve performance issues.

      • Map the strengths and weaknesses of competing RMS players to illustrate risks & opportunities.

      • Monitor and provide timely business reports on RMS business and operational metrics (financial and non-financial)

      • Evaluate and respond to customer inquiries and issues.

      • Follow up on all MTN Group initiatives on Video and Messaging services and ensure on boarding onto MTN platforms.

      • Scout for relevant digital content (local & foreign) and ensuring content is up to date and frequently refreshed.

      • Lead all User Acceptance Tests (UAT’s) for Video and Messaging products and services, ensuring all scenarios and formats are defined and tested.

      • Lead monthly reconciliations with contents providers and follow up on timely invoices delivery.

      • Provide input for business planning by sharing monthly and quarterly forecasts on RMS revenues and subscriptions.

      • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

      • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Economics, Information Technology Management or related fields)

      • At least 3 years relevant Rich Media Services’ experience within the telecommunications Industry

      • 3 years’ experience in a role within the Marketing department

      • 3 years relevant experience in Project Management or Product development
