The management of Rwanda Energy Group Limited (REG Ltd) informs the Public that it is recruiting competent, qualified and experienced staff to the following positions:

 

 

JOB AT Rwanda Energy Group Limited :  Group Strategic Planning Coordinator-Director level  : ( Deadline : 26 July 2019 )

 

1. Group Strategic Planning Coordinator-Director level (Re-advertised)

 

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Technical Delivery

 

1. Coordinates Planning functions in REG and its Subsidiaries (EUCL, EDCL) to ensure harmonised plans and avoid duplication;

2. Provide advisory role regarding new technologies,

3. Engineering performance reporting at group level;

Leadership

1. Develop Business Plan and Budget for Planning Department aligned with REG Strategic Plans;

2. Develop Deliverables, agree KPIs, Monitor, Review and Evaluate performance for the planning team;

Safety, Health & Environment

1. Ensure Planning activities and staff comply with Safety, Environment and Health statutory, legal and regulatory guidelines;

2. Ensure the Group Planning efforts result in minimal negative &/or adverse environmental impact;

Educational requirements & experience:

MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro–Mechanical Engineering, IT engineering

A minimum of 4 years’ experience in an Electricity Utility, and 1 year experience in a management position and

2 years of experience in Network Planning & Design

 

Or

 

BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro–Mechanical Engineering, IT engineering or related field A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Electricity Utility, and ` 3 years’ experience in a management position and 2 years of experience in Network Planning & Design.

2. Compliance Analyst (Manager level)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategic Management

 

1.Develop legal policies, process and procedures in line with the Rwandan legal system and the strategic objectives of Rwanda Energy Group

 

Advisory Services

 

2.Provide guidance on legal and governance issues or matters that may arise for the Organization’s compliance with the relevant legislation and best practice.

Contract Management and Negotiation

3.Lead in the drafting and negotiation of contracts to include contract negotiation
in coordination with the Electric Utility legal services.

 

Legal Services

 

4.Prepare legal opinions and undertake research on matters relating to the
mandate of the Authority.

Leadership

5.Provide leadership in all legal and regulatory compliance matters

Educational requirements & experience:

• A Masters degree in Law. A Juris Doctor (JD) in law would be an added advantage.

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience related to compliance of legal and regulatory documents, working on corporate/commercial transactions in a reputable company or law firm

• Excellent analytical and contract drafting skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; the knowledge of French is an added value,

• Excellent presentation skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and tactfully to a variety of audiences

• Ability to work in a multicultural working environment.

3. Planning Engineer (Specialist level)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Leadership

 

1. Provide leadership to the planning staff in EUCL and EDCL and manage work performance in line with corporate goals;

Technical Assistance

1. Technical assistance and reporting to the Corporate Planning Manager;

Network Planning and Development

1. Update and maintain the Network Planning criteria up to the latest international standards;

 

Operational Safety

 

1. Ensure no harm to EUCL staff, customers, wider public and equipment as a result of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity

 

 

Emergency Preparedness

 

1. Contribute to the development and implementation of Emergency Preparedness Plan;

Educational requirements & experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree (A0) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Electro mechanical engineering field or a full relevant professional qualification in Engineering and;

• At least 3 years of progressive work experience in network planning and development in the energy sector,

• An MSC or MBA qualification will be an advantage
