Context of the position:
SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda is an independent, non-governmental social development organization. The Organization supports vulnerable children and young people in four locations of Kigali, Gicumbi, Kayonza, and Nyamagabe. SOS Rwanda applies a one program approach in its education, family strengthening, that support a holistic approach in the interest of the child. In this regard, SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda seeks to recruit a School Principal for its Technical School at Gasabo District/ Kagugu Sector.
Job summary:
The Principal overseas all activities within the school in order to achieve the highest level of education standard possible. He or she creates a stimulating learning environment by introducing new, creative teaching methods through the teaching staff and by providing a varied, challenging, and balanced educational programme.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:
- Guides, Controls, and Coordinates School Activities
- Develops a High-Quality Education Programme
- Builds a committed and effective Staff Team
- Acts to Integrate the School with Other SOS Projects at the location.
- Recruits, Selects and Orients Teaching and None Teaching Staff
- Enhances the Public Reputation of the School
- Finance and Administration
Leads the process of annual budgeting and provides proper financial management for the school in conjunction with other administrative staff and the Head of the location and ensures proper administration & management of the budget.
Technical Qualifications and personal skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical trade with at least 5 years as School Principal of TVET School with level 5 or Bachelor’s degree in Education with at least 10 years as School Principal of TVET School with level 5 (Attach the certificate of rendered services)
- Proficiency in English language
- Age should be below 45 years
- Analytical thinking
- Sound judgement
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

JOB PURPOSE:
The School Accountant reports to the School Principal of Technical School Kagugu and receives technical supervision from the Head of Finance. His/her major responsibility is to ensure the proper management of funds at the school level.

MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES:
- Supervises the Accounts Department
- Coordinates Annual Budget Preparation Process and Finance transfers.
- Enhances Internal Control in all Programmes/Projects
- Performs Detailed Accounting Tasks
DESIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or in Finance.
- At least five years of relevant work experience with a not-for-profit organization
- Analytical thinking
- Sound judgment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with various administrative and program levels in the organization.
- Strong organizational and research skills with a thorough understanding of finance and accounting principles, procedures, and techniques.

5 Positions of Driver at SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda: (Deadline 27 April 2021)
Context of the position:
SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda is an independent, non-governmental social development & child-focused organization. The Organization supports vulnerable children and young people in four locations of Kigali, Gicumbi, Kayonza, and Nyamagabe. SOS Rwanda applies a one program approach in its education, family strengthening, health, and community development programs, that support a holistic approach in the interest of the child. SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda therefore seeks to recruit 5 Drivers for the following facilities:
- National Office/Kigali,
- Care Training Centre Kigali,
- SOS Technical School Kigali,
- BMZ Quality Care Project Kigali.
- SOS Children’s Village Kayonza
Job summary:
The Drivers will be responsible for the transportation of Organization/Project staff & SOS Children only when they are involved in Organization/Project activities. The position holder will therefore be responsible for the following tasks:
- Control and ensure the good state of the vehicle;
- Report any accidents or injuries to supervisors immediately.
- Perform minor reparation of the vehicle;
- Prepare the vehicle maintenance forms;
- Prepare the requisition of any repairment or maintenance;
- Perform vehicle inspections such as checking fluid level and tire pressure.
- Notify supervisors about any major repairs and maintenances.
- Use the Organization/Project car in Organization/Project activities only,
- Drive vehicles to designated destinations as per the request of Organization/Project staff;
- Perform vehicle inspection before and after each trip
- Drive safely and ensure reaching the destination on time;
- Analyze destination, determine appropriate routes, and maintain schedule;
- Respect driving laws and road regulations;
- Maintain the vehicle clean and safe;
- Adhere to organizational operating policies and procedures;
- Maintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete daily paperwork
Technical Qualifications and personal skills:
- At least Secondary Leaving Certificate (A2);
- A hold a Driving Licence at least category B & D;
- At least 4 years’ working experience in the same position;
- Ability to work independently, self-organized, fulfil commitments and meet deadlines;
- Ability to work extra-hours if need be and living in the neighboring working area;
- Fluent in Kinyarwanda, good communication skills including written and spoken English or French
- The ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
