Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

The overall objective of this consultancy is to support the tailored immunization data and COVID-19 vaccine electronic data collection, focusing on data management, data analytics and information for decision making

 Scope of Work:.

  • Support the national immunization programmes to meet regional and country-specific routine immunization and COVID-19 reporting;
  • Monitor and ensure accurate and timely collection, collation and dissemination of data from the different tools used in immunization especially Covid-19 vaccination
  • Conduct the design, development and maintenance of queries, scripts and programs for data management, analytics and reporting.
  • Assess current systems and practices for vaccine data management including client reminder/recall for the next visit;
  • Monitor and supervise mapping of a comprehensive assessment of gaps and needs for electronic immunization reporting system;
  • Develop an implementation road map for strengthening overall vaccination data management, registries and reporting including new vaccine introduction data management;
  • Organize training for focal points on the electronic data collection and management
  • Identify required modifications, ahead of time, in the existing data collection and monitoring platforms, or developing a dedicated system, based on defined standard requirements,
  • Support the introduction of an electronic tool for capturing and monitoring immunization;
  • Assess ICT capacity including connectivity problems or challenges in country’s immunization data reporting
  • Identify, capture, synthesize and share lessons learned from evaluations for integration into broader knowledge development planning and management efforts.
  • Planning and implementation of Covid-19 vaccine effectiveness evaluations at country level
  • Research and report on best and cutting-edge practices for development planning of knowledge products and systems for evaluations.
  • Participate as resource person in capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of vaccination staff at different levels.

Major Tasks :

  • Conduct the design, development and maintenance of queries, scripts and programs for data management, analytics and reporting.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate and timely collection, collation and dissemination of data from the different tools used in immunization especially Covid-19 vaccination
  • Assess current systems and practices for vaccine data management including client reminder/recall for the next visit
  • Build capacity and supportive supervision of EPI staff/focal points in different divisions and lower levels on the electronic immunization reporting system
  • Identify, capture, synthesize and share lessons learned from evaluations for integration into broader knowledge development planning and management efforts
  • Research and report on best and cutting-edge practices for development planning of knowledge products and systems for evaluations

Deliverables:

  • Data collection and analytics tools developed and approved by RBC and UNICEF
  • Monthly vaccination data reports approved
  • Assessment reports approved
  • Regular reports on activities and recommendations implemented
  • Best practices documented and approved
  • Evaluation systems available and approved

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education :
    • A master’s degree in Public Health/Epidemiology

    Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

    • A minimum of five years of experience in data management analysis and reporting
    • strong communication/writing skills.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English and knowledge of Kinyarwanda is required, French would be an advantage.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
